From a one-classroom school in rural Malawi, came so many lessons. These kids had me falling in love with what I do the more. The language barrier did not hinder the beauty of innocence. A complete stranger that I was to them, and still they instinctively trusted me to tell the truth with every question they asked. They placed an expectation of love and protection on me.

Who I was, my name or where I came from, did not matter to them. Without using any words, they made it known that they cared that they mattered to me.

And this....this can't be taught. It can only be nurtured and protected. A role Madamu (I believe that's supposed to be Madam), their teacher carried out with great love and diligence.

This is CHILDHOOD.

Here is a shot I've been wanting to create for the past one year. Whilst it's very tempting and almost impossible to not wanna portray The Commander in Chief in the most glamorous of ways, it's the story of the gravity of the responsibility of the office that goes untold.

In this shot, I want you to see a man who lost his friend. A man who put his grief second to his nation and people. A man who stepped up and carried a country. A man who once again finds himself carrying the heaviest weight.

We See You Sir.

Maybe one day I will create a Presidential shot...

But for now, this is a shot of the man.

This is a shot of The Commander in Chief. H.E Dr. Nangolo Mbumba 🇳🇦

I have dedicated this month to working and collaborating with exceptional women holding space and time for both themselves and others. Women breaking stereotypes and those setting new standards. Those healing and those that keep on dreaming. There is no such thing as a story too small.

Firstly, Johanna Swartbooi (Miss Namibia 2025)

On this International Women’s Day, I find myself reflecting on the journey of being a woman, a dreamer, and the privilege of serving as Miss Namibia 2025.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned as a woman is that life is never a straight line. It is full of ups and downs, moments of uncertainty, and seasons that test your faith. But through it all, I have learned to trust that there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

In this beautiful phase of my life, I feel that light shining brightly on me; like the warm Namibian sun, as I carry the title of Miss Namibia. It has reminded me that sometimes our purpose is simply to be a symbol of hope, to walk into rooms with intention, and to spread joy wherever we go.

I have also learned that not everyone will see the vision the way you do.

DREAMS ARE DEEPLY PERSONAL.

Following mine has taught me the power of starting in silence; nurturing my goals quietly, protecting them, and sharing them only when necessary.

To every woman who is stubborn about her dreams, who keeps believing even when the path is unclear: keep going. Your light matters. Your voice matters. And your journey, with all its highs and lows, is part of the beauty of becoming.

Happy International Women’s Day. 🤍
